At Beckfoot Upper Heaton, we believe that student voice and leadership are essential in fostering a positive and inclusive culture where everyone feels they belong. Guided by our values of excellence, integrity, and kindness, we encourage our students to actively contribute to the continued growth and improvement of our school.
How can our students get involved?
Student voice is encouraged by regular listening sessions which our student leaders have been trained in by Bradford Citizen. These sessions allow students to provide us with a valuable insight into school life and allow us to implement changes to improve.
Our students also take on key roles in recruitment events and assist with external visits to the school. These experiences help to develop their personal growth and boost their confidence as strong communicators.

Student Leadership
We have an excellent student leadership team who are committed to their school and celebrating their community. We have an active EDI group who work with Bradford Citizens and schools across the Trust to ensure we are constantly improving from an EDI perspective.
We also have a number of other leadership opportunities including Next Gen Leaders, Anti Bullying Group, Library Assistants, these opportunities give students the chance to meet regularly and work for improvement in our school community from their own lens.
